Round 2 of Field Day
So, today was field day for the older kids. They had a fun and full day! They played all the games as a class, had a teacher versus fifth grader kick ball game, and ended the day with a water balloon fight. It was a really good day. I’m sorry that it’s Adam’s last one. Next year, he’ll be moving on to the middle school. No more elementary school fun with him. And rumor has it, that having your mom hanging out at your school just doesn’t fly once you’re a middle schooler. They’re too cool for parents, I hear.
So, here we go. This is what the last field day looks like!
The kids were out and ready for some competition.
The wheel bearer race is a good time, and always good for a face plant or back injury of some sort.
There were races.
And best buds.
Hula hooping.
And more hula hooping. These girls could do this all day!
There was tugging.
And more tugging. And a little false starting.
And I’d go so far as to say “warring.”
Of course, our favorite couple was in attendance.
Showing off a newly gapped smile.
There was kick ball. Teachers vs Students. And a disputed out. Adam’s teacher said she got him out with this ball. He says, she didn’t. I was looking at it through the camera lens and thought he was safe. His dad thought he was out. The truth will remain a mystery.
After the kick ball game, Mrs. Russell and Adam were still disagreeing about that play. Looks like he was out from this angle, doesn’t it?
Side note; though Mrs. Russell could have been drafted for a kick ball scholarship today, she wasn’t nearly as sweaty after the game as she looks. This was actually taken after the water balloon fight. I think she was ganged up on pretty good!
I’m really thankful for all the great teachers that make field day at our school such a great day. I know it’s a lot of work. And I really appreciate it. They’re helping these kids make such great memories!
I am truly sorry that it’s my Adam’s last one! *Tear*
Hope you find yourself crossing the finish line first!

I love their hand holding!!
Looks like a ton of fun! And I agree with Liz…I love our favorite couple and the hand holding. They are so stinkin’ cute! But you knew that. : )
