You Know You’re a Mom When-sdaze

May 4, 2010

Arizona Mamma from Our Daze in the Desert gives us a great chance to be creative while sharing what it’s really like to be a mom!

Hop over to her blog and link up!  I’m sure we can all relate!

You know you’re a mom when your geraniums and Gerber daisies have been neglected because of ball games.

You know you’re a mom when you think it’ll be fun to let your seven-year old water them.

You know you’re a mom when you’re holding a fern and your seven-year old decides that now would be  a good time to water it, with the hose, full blast, from six feet away.

You know you’re a mom when you are standing there laughing because you’re soaking wet and the fern still doesn’t seem to be getting any water.

You know you’re a mom when you are trying to get away from “hose-boy” and end up slipping and falling.

You know you’re a mom when you lie down and writhe in pain and your son runs away. Just runs away. And leaves you for dead.

You know you’re a mom when you writhe in pain and wonder if you’ve broken your foot. And even before you know if your foot still works or not, you’re already wondering what the heck you’re going to do if it doesn’t!

You know you’re a mom when you start wondering who’s going to help you pull your load before you even try and stand.

You know you’re a mom when the kid who hosed you down is panicking and not able to turn off the water and as you writhe in pain, you yell “Honey, righty tighty.  Not lefty loosey!”

I wish I had pictures to share.  But, the kids were too busy leaving me for dead! Sorry!

Hope your children don’t trip you and leave you to writhe in pain!
Heathens!

Ha ha ha ha! So perfect! I can clearly see the whole thing play out in my mind. Sorry about your ankle though. Sure hope it’s better soon 🙂

Love how you made it a story! And glad you’re not really dead – I’m sure the kids are happy! Hope the ankle gets better quickly 🙂

So, which son is responsible for leaving you for dead?

    It’s a perfect portrait of a mom.

I hope your foot feels better, you know, so you can take care of everyone else’s needs.

Hahahaha! This is awesome and so so true. I loved the part about you being soaked but the flowers still being dry and then being left for dead. Kids are helpful, or at least they try to be. 🙂

Oh…but the picture you DID share made me laugh. It is so peaceful and serene…kind of like the calm after the storm! haha

I’m sorry you were left for dead. Just one of the “perks” of being Mom!! ha ha
